Fashion shoot with the M system

September 13, 2013

Everyone knows that Leica cameras of the M series are outstanding tools for reportage and travel photography; however, they can be used just as well for professional fashion shoots. Portuguese fashion photographer Pedro Ferreira proved the point in the latest issue of Vogue
Perdo Ferreira works for magazines such as Máxima, Vogue and GQ, and is happy to use the M system for his fashion shoots. "I like the range finder and the manual focussing, working with excellent lenses and the sense of precision that imbues the whole photographic process," he said in the May 2012 special edition of LFI, where the new Apo-Summicron-M 1:2/50 mm Asph was introduced through one of his picture series.

The cover image of the September issue of Vogue Portugal was taken by Ferreira with an M. The photo shoot for the main article and for the cover took place in July, close to Lisbon. The team working with Ferreira was made up of Ana Viegas (photo assistant), Miguel Viana (hairdresser), Cristina Gomes (make-up), Ana Campos (styling) and the Polish model, Natalia Uliasz.
