On June 14, 2013, top class photography will be auctioned at Van Ham's in Cologne. The works can be previewed from June 8 to 11.
A typology of ten “industrial buildings” by photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher is among the items on offer. It is expected to fetch somewhere between 15,000 and 18,000 euros.
Other pieces by so-called Becher students will also be up for grabs. Candida Höfer's Teatro Colón Buenos Aires I 2006, is the highlight of the auction; the monumental image is estimated to sell for between 50,000 and 60,000 euros. In addition, there will be works by Thomas Struth and Andreas Gursky.
From the classic photography range, Van Ham's is also including works by August Sander in the programme. The Landrat Dr. Boden portrait was taken in the 1930s and is expected to collect anything between 6,000 and 8,000 euros.
