Tepito

Share:

Tepito is the most dangerous district in Mexico City, but it is also an area of tradition and beliefs, mystical activities and crazy, creative people. You can buy anything on the streets of Tepito – anything from harmless toys to bags of cocaine and a broad selection of firearms. Over a period of two years, photographer Adriana Zehbrauskas returned frequently to document life in this neighbourhood. During her visits she photographed with a Leica M9 among other cameras.

The outcome of her work is now appearing initially as a digital photo book: “Tepito, el barrio” presents 102 colour images taken in Mexico City's Tepito district. The pictures are accompanied by local sounds and interviews.

The Tepito photo book is available as an App, ready to download for iPhone and iPad at the iTunes store:  http://itunes.apple.com
