Slapstick!

Share:

The exhibition is a humorous exploration of silent slapstick movies within the context of contemporary art. The concept of slapstick is traced from the early history of cinema, to its representation in present day art - informally combining objects, installations, photographs and films (including works by artists such as John Bock, Rodney Graham, Wilfredo Prieto, Timm Ulrichs, Fischli/Weiss, Bruce Nauman and Francis Alÿs) with selected key sequences from famous silent movie classics by Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd or Laurel & Hardy.
