ARCHAIK and AM ENDE DER WELT – FINISTÈRE by Christian and Helga von Alvensleben: from 19 September at the Schleswig City Museum.
The work of Christian and Helga von Alvensleben will be showing at the Schleswig City Museum from 19 September to 16 November 2014. Archaik consists of 35 analogue images addressing the primeval, and ultimately transient nature of life, both in the form of portraits as well as intricate depictions of prehistoric objects.

The images are complemented by the series At the End of the WorldFinistère. Created on the Brittany coast, the cycle of 23 photographs captures the fascinating structures and shapes of the 540 million year old granite rocks of the Armorican Massif.

Series in Black and White
With Archaik and the images taken in Finistère, the German photographer couple continue their black and white oeuvre, following on from the previous projects Hubert Fichte, Die Spur des Leoparden (The Leopard's Trail), Das Apokalyptische Menu (The Apocalyptic Menu), Götterbäume (Trees of Heaven) and All Inclusive.
