A powerful visual opulence characterises the works of Spanish photography artist Eugenio Recuenco. The CWC Gallery in Berlin now presents a selection of his work, including an 18 metre wide photograph – in terms of surface area, one of the largest photographs in the world. The diverse contents of Recuenco's images illustrate the artist's highly creative mind. His often cinematic imagery references the worlds of literature, film and art history in equal measure – leading to a mesmerising display of parallel realities that move fluidly between tangible realism and obscure illusion.
Born 1968 in Madrid, Eugenio Recuenco studied Visual Arts, subsequently focusing on photography. He has received multiple awards for his work, which is regularly shown in the context of international solo and group exhibitions.
