The winners of the Prix de la Photographie Paris 2013 (PX3) have been announced – their winning projects will be exhibited at the Espace Dupon in Paris from 10 July. Shin Yahiro was chosen as Photographer of the Year for his series on the Syrian city of Aleppo. The title of Best New Talent was awarded to Pierre Pellegrini for "Tenderly Together".
Photographers were able to enter their work in up to six categories, divided into professionals and amateurs. In the category of Photojournalism, Christian Werner won first prize for his series "Depleted Uranium – The Silent Genocide". LFI 5/2013 features a reportage by Werner on the situation of mentally ill people in Bali. Another PX3 winner is Marc Erwin Babej, who came first in the category of Fine Art with "Mask of Perfection". The series will we published in the Project section of the forthcoming LFI, published on 28 June 2013.
