The Italian photographer Paolo Roversi is the man behind the lens of the latest Pirelli Calendar. Titled Looking for Juliet, the 2020 edition re-imagines the legendary Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet. Nine notable actresses and musicians from around the world have been invited to interpret the powerful blend of love, strength, youth and beauty embodied by the drama’s iconic female lead.
The artists channeling Julia Capulet are the British actresses Claire Foy, Mia Goth and Emma Watson, the American actresses Indya Moore, Yara Shahidi and Kristen Stewart, the Chinese singer Chris Lee, the Spanish singer Rosalia, and the French-Italian artist Stella Roversi.
The shoot, which was realised in Paris and Verona in May 2019, took more than a week to complete.
