Honoured: Gregor Beltzig

German photographer Gregor Beltzig (born 1979) is the winner of this year's 'Photo d'Hôtel, Photo d'Auteur' Award. For his Prix PHPA entry, Beltzig portrays the hotel room as a meeting place for lovers – creating poetic, intimate scenes which transcend mere photography. His winning image is part-superimposed by a crumpled, hand-written (love) letter, which elaborates on the visual content of the image and adds an element of the surreal.
