Martin Kollár wins with his series "Field Trip"
This year's Leica Oskar Barnack Award goes to the Slovak photographer Martin Kollár (1971). Kollár wins it with a series taken from his Field Trip photo book that was published in 2013.

In addition to prize money amounting to 10,000 euros, he will receive Leica M camera equipment also worth 10,000 euros.

The Newcomer Award this year goes to Alejandro Cegarra from Venezuela. Cegarra receives it for his series Torre de David, also winning Leica M camera equipment worth 10,000 euros and prize money amounting to 5,000 euros.

For the first time this year a third category known as the Leica Oskar Barnack Public Award was introduced. The winner was chosen by on-line voting from a pre-selection made by the jury. The winner in this category was the Lithuanian photographer Tadas Černiauskas, who will receive prize money amounting to 2,500 euros for his Comfort Zone series.

Once again this year, LFI has produced a special edition issue for the Oskar Barnack Award 2014, which will be available at the beginning of July. With around 86 pages, it presents portfolios of the winner and finalists of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2014 and the winner of the Newcomer Award 2014.

The LFI special editions from 2011, 2012 and 2013 are still available in German and in English versions at the LFI shop.
