From 1 November 2013 to 18 May 2014, the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin will be showing photographs by Helmut Newton as well as Greg Gorman.
The Helmut Newton retrospective "Paris-Berlin. Exhibition Grand Palais 2012" was collated in 2012 for the Grand Palais in Paris. It was the first exhibition in a long time to be presented in the city he had called home since 1961. Comprising of over 200 images taken between 1960 and 2000, the exhibition subsequently travelled to Athens and Stockholm – and has now arrived in Berlin.
It was Newton's explicit wish that the Helmut Newton Foundation would also be a platform for the work of other photographers. In the light of this, an exhibition of male nudes by Greg Gorman will be on display in parallel to the retrospective – providing an interesting counterpart to Newton's nude portraits of women.
