On the occasion of its 20th birthday, the Winterthur Photo Museum is presenting its tenth set exhibition This Infinite World, from June 8, 2013, to February 9, 2014.
This Infinite World clearly summarizes the Winterthur Photo Museum's twenty year history. None other than New York-based photographer Paul Graham (*1956 in Stafford/GB) has been invited to curate this jubilee exhibition.
The Winterthur Photo Museum celebrated its opening in 1993 with New Europe, a solo exhibition of works by the British photographer, who was considerably less known at the time. As guest curator, Graham, who received the renowned Hasselblad Award in 2012 for his work, has been given carte blanche to put together his own artistic selection from among the 4000 works in the photo museum's collection.
The exhibition includes works by Diane Arbus, Rineke Dijkstra, William Eggleston, Robert Frank, Jean Louis Garnell, Luigi Ghirri, David Goldblatt, Volker Heinze, Lukas Hoffmann, Jacob Holdt, Daniela Keiser, Boris Mikhailov and Alec Soth.
Press previews and the vernissage will take place on Friday, June 7, 2013, from 10 to 12, and from 18 to 21, respectively.
