They were pioneers of photojournalism, and humanitarian idealists: after World War II, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, George Rodger, David Seymour and William Vandivert founded Magnum Photos – to this day the most prestigious photo agency worldwide.
As part of an exhibition series on documentary photography, the Kunstfoyer in Munich presents the works of Magnum photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) and Sergio Larrain (1931-2012). Along with spontaneous scenes captured by the legendary Cartier-Bresson on the streets of Mexico during the 1930s and 1960s, the selection features images by the Chilean photographer Sergio Larrain, whose life and work are not widely known. This will be the first comprehensive retrospective of Larrain's work to be shown in Germany.
