Curated by Peter Bogner, the exhibition "Menschen in Wien" (People in Vienna) is showing at the Cimmic Gallery in Vienna until 31 October. The exhibition features portraits of the city's most influential personalities, captured by Sabine Hauswirth.
Every picture tells a story
A portrait must tell a story: on the strength of this, the heart of Hauswirth's work is rooted in the way she directs her shot, creating a tension in the image which allows the viewer to interpret their own story. In this series, each portrait tells of someone who has shaped Vienna – with her subjects including the master painters Hermann Nitsch, Arnulf Rainer and Christian Ludwig Attersee, the author Christine Nöstlinger, mayor of Vienna Michael Häupl, actress Marion Mitterhammer and Vienna-born international model sensation Werner Schreyer.
