The exhibition ‘Civilization: The Way We Live Now’ is open at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, from September 13, 2019, to February 2, 2020.
From September 13, 2019, to February 2, 2020, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne presents the showcase ‘Civilization: The Way We Live Now’. The international group exhibition features more than 200 original works by over 100 contemporary photographers from Africa, America, Asia, Australia and Europe – including Lauren Greenfield, Dona Schwartz, Pieter Hugo, Pablo Lopez Luz and Candida Höfer.

Comprising a range of visual approaches, the exhibition explores the complex theme of urban life in the 21st century and the shared experience of living in a globalised world. ‘Civilization: The Way We Live Now’ is presented in collaboration with the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography, Minneapolis/New York/Paris/Lausanne and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea.
