Photographer Alice Martins attended four women during the protests in Istanbul – see the reportage in LFI 7/2013.
It began as a protest over a small park in Istanbul, then escalated into one of the largest resistance movements in Turkish history. Many women were at the forefront of the struggle. They had a lot to lose – but also a lot to gain. Here is the story of four women whose lives have changed forever as a result of the uprising, photographed by Alice Martins with a Leica M9 with Summicron-M 35mm f/2 Asph.
