“We show both drama and comedy, making the festival a true reflection of life,” Prof. Rolf Nobel, Head of the 2012 Lumix Festival, explains. Together with the Freelens association of photo journalists, photojournalism students at Hanover’s Uni- versity of Applied Sciences are organizing the festival. Starting June 13th, the former Expo site will host an exhibition, showing the 60 best reportages from a total of 1170 submissions from 73 countries. Among the participants are 11 students and two graduates from the college, including Ann Sophie Lindström, who spent time with a group of punks who want to live independently in caravans, unfettered by normal rules or obligations. The Freelens Award for the best entry is endowed with 10,000 Euros.
