One of London’s most famous districts, seen through the eyes of world-renowned photographers: ‘Shot in Soho’ is open at the Photographers’ Gallery from October 18 to February 9,2020.

’Shot in Soho’ explores one of London’s most eclectic areas through the lens of several outstanding photographers. The selection includes a rare presentation of William Klein’s photo essay created in the 1980s for The Sunday Times, along with candid social studies by Anders Petersen and Corinne Day. Visitors will also have a chance to view works by less familiar figures – such as a series by Times photographer Kelvin Brodie, who accompanied police teams on their night-time patrols. John Goldblatt’s strip club scenes, as well as Clancy Gebler Davies’s impressions of The Colony Room Club, give further insight into an eccentric, multicultural community. The exhibition also features a new commission by Daragh Soden – which illustrates that the area is still brimming with the character and charm that has defined its history.
