Leica introduces the fastest S lens yet
With the Summicron-S 100mm f/2 Asph, Leica is introducing a new, particularly compact, portrait-tele lens for the Leica S system. It is by far the fastest lens for the medium format Leica S system yet, and produces outstanding pictures at all apertures and across the whole range of settings.

The Leica Summicron-S 100mm f/2 Asph corresponds to the picture angle of a classic 80mm lens in a small format system. Thanks to the larger starting aperture of 1:2, it can be optimally used for Available Light photography and the targeted use of selective sharpness: with its natural-looking perspectives it delivers perfect picture results. The brilliant colour reproduction is optimised for skin tones, ensuring that portrait shots are particularly vivid.

The first 100 Leica Summicron-S 100mm f/2 Asph lenses will be offered exclusively as part of a special edition limited set with a Leica S camera. The camera and lens of this Leica S Summicron 100 Edition, come with a special rubber covering in Graphite Grey, and are branded with a special engraving and number. The limited Leica S Summicron 100 Edition is available as of August 2014.
