Firmware Update FW 2.0.1.5. available now
A new firmware update for the Leica M is available now as a free download on the Leica homepage. FW 2.0.1.5 contains numerous improvements for the camera's Live View and video functions. Feedback by current M owners regarding the camera's automatic ISO settings have also been taken into account. In addition, Korean has been added as an optional menu language.

The new firmware enables Live View mode to be utilised with every lens (including screw-mount lenses attached via an adapter). A further improvement is that the level function is now also available in Live View mode.

A new 'video off' setting has been added to the menu. Video recording now uses 1/24 second (instead of 1/25 second), reducing the flicker effect caused by a 50Hz mains voltage.

Further improvements have been made to the display of GPS location data, lens type description in Exif data, as well as the sensor cleaning function.
