Light-sensitive optics meet elegant camera design
Leica introduce the model of the Leica D-Lux series. The high-performance compact camera features the light sensitive Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 Asph., which offers a high maximum aperture along with an impressive zoom range of 24 to 75 mm (small format equivalent). In contrast to its predecessor, the new D-Lux offers a larger, Four-Thirds sensor. Combined with the camera's high-speed lens, this results in exceptional imaging quality in all shooting situations.

The D-Lux's extensive range of features – which include program mode, manual settings as well as improved video capability – are complemented by an integrated, 2.8 megapixel electronic viewfinder as well as a WiFi module.

The camera's lens – the Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 Asph. – is perfectly matched to the larger sensor. With a light sensitivity of up to ISO 25600, the new D-Lux achieves natural colours and superb image quality, particularly in Available Light photography. In addition, the versatile zoom lens makes the D-Lux universally suitable for portrait, landscape, architectural and macro photography, as well as Leica's characteristic reportage photography.

The D-Lux's video function opens up further possibilities – enabling the photographer to record moving images in 4K high-definition format, which offers a resolution four times higher than full HD.
