From June 5 to September 1, 2013, the Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, is presenting an exhibition of works titled "The Class Challenge" by Laure Albin Guillot. Organized in collaboration with the Jeu de Paume, the show brings together 200 pictures and original publications by Laure Albin Guillot (1879–1962), as well as contemporary journals and documents from public and private collections.
A formative photographer
Laure Albin Guillot, "a good-sounding name, which is bound to become famous", as was written shortly after World War II. In fact, French photography in the middle of that century was definitely touched in a unique way by this artist's aura. A photographer of her times, she made use of the new distribution channels to deliver her images to the press, to publishing houses and for advertising.
