Work culture and daily life

August 26, 2014

Up until October 12, 2014, the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne continues to present the exhibition 'Das Auge des Arbeiters' (The Eye of the Worker)
The 'Das Auge des Arbeiters' exhibition will continue to run at the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne, up until October 12, 2014.

The presentation offers a glimpse into daily life and work culture in the 1920s and 1930s, including private photographs as well as pictures deliberately published by the press.

In addition to a certain number of pictures taken by amateurs, the exhibition includes artistic photographs by Walter Ballhause and Albert Hennig, as well as political photo-montages by John Heartfield. With their specific “view from below”, the pictures present a unique focus on the behaviour of the Weimar Republic up until the war years.
