Nine of Cologne's best-known photojournalists and photography artists have joined forces to represent the city's famous Carnival celebrations within an art project, approaching the cultural event from a multitude of different angles.
Behind-the-scenes photographs of the carnival committee are featured along with pictures of celebrations in the suburbs, or images capturing the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Rosenmontag Parade. As a result, elf uhr elf (eleven past eleven) presents the large-scale event in all its facets.
The project will be exhibited at the Laif Gallery in Cologne from 14 February to 5 March. In addition, a comprehensive 144-page photo book will be published on the first day of the exhibition.
