"Portraits of Survival" is the American photojournalist and war photographer's first solo exhibition in 25 years. The images capture the everyday lives and personal moments of people living in a conflict zone.
Kamber used the time periods between combat, as well as the aftermath of military conflict, to portray the people whose lives had been affected by war. Around 30 photographs will be on display, shot in Iraq, Afghanistan and Nigeria, amongst others. The exhibition also includes some of Kamber's photographs taken in the 1980s in the South Bronx, where he lived for many years.
The former New York Times photographer will also be introducing and signing his book "Photojournalists on War: The Untold Stories from Iraq" (University of Texas Press, 2013).
