"Workers" is the Polish photographer's first solo exhibition. Inspired by Sebastiao Salgados, Janiszewski travelled to Bangladesh, the Philippines and India to photograph the daily lives of factory workers there. The outcome is an impressive series that shows both the heavy physical efforts made by the workers as well as their moments of relaxation.
"'Houses', the homes of whole families working in charcoal factories, are crowded between enormous piles of charcoal and pungent vapours. Everyone is coughing. Life there is very hard, but despite the tough conditions you see smiling faces, hear children laughing, and excited men shouting as they feverishly watch cock fights," Janiszewski recalls.
