“The crisis of authenticity and the loss of individuality” - a day meeting at the Photo Museum in Istanbul, on February 21, 2014
On February 21 there will be a meeting at the Photo Museum in Istanbul to deal with “the crisis of authenticity and the loss of individuality”. Does the individual, as a member of a global society, still naturally exist or has he/she already disappeared behind manipulated effigies? Is it still possible to even take an honest look at human beings?

The image of human beings in art
The interdisciplinary meeting to be held in Istanbul takes a look at this subject. Gallery owners, curators, collectors, journalists and photography experts will make short presentations in which they examine the image of human beings in art. The participants include, among others, art historian David Galloway, publicist Hans-Michael Koetzle, photo historian Christina Natlacen (High School for Graphic Art and Book Art, Leipzig), Dr. Marita Ruiter (Clairefontaine Gallery, Luxembourg), Rebekka Reuter (Editor in Chief, Galerie Westlicht Wien), Cologne collector Renate Gruber, and the curator of the Munich Photo Museum, Rudolf Scheutle.
