The winners of this year’s ICP Infinity Awards will be honoured at a gala event in New York.
On May 1, the winners of this year’s ICP Infinity Awards will be honoured at Pier Sixty in New York. South African photographer David Goldblatt is receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. “We are delighted that David Goldblatt is among the winners,” says Mark Robbins, the Director of ICP. “Goldblatt has not only been dedicated to documenting the original South Africa, but also to teaching the basics of photography to socially disadvantaged youths.”
The Trustees Award goes to Pat Schoenefeld, and the Newcomer Award to Kitra Cahana. Other winners are Mishka Henner (Art), Christina de Middel (Publication), Erik Madigan Heck (Applied/Fashion/Advertising) and David Guttenfelder (Photo journalism). Guttenfelder, an AP photographer, lives in Tokyo and has already received various awards: he is known for his unusual photo series taken in North Korea, mixing propaganda photos with very normal everyday scenes.
