Focus on Nature

July 20, 2014

'Discover Hamburg's green diversity!' The Ministry for City Development and the Environment is launching a photography competition.
On the occasion of Hamburg's 100 Years Green City jubilee, the Ministry for City Development and the Environment has launched the photo competition Focus on Nature. Anyone interested in nature and in photography is invited to participate.

Hamburg's public, green spaces, that include everything from parks to old forests, offer an important habitat for wild plants and animals. In particular, the photo competition wants to draw the attention to the nature in those park areas, the beauty of weeds, a field of wild flowers, an old tree or a local animal. But other photos that show the diversity of nature in Hamburg are also very welcome, as the whole of nature is the focus of the contest.

The prizes:
1. Presentation of the best photos in an exhibition in a prominent location in the city
2. Presentation of the winning photos in the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper
3. The chance to take part in a photo safari through the Elbe island Nesssand opposite Blankenese, which is not accessible to the general public
4. Book prizes

The deadline (postal date) is September 30, 2014.
