Photographs by Silvio Balestra – at Chiostro del Bramante in Rome, from February 26 to April 4, 2013.
The Italian artist, Silvio Balestra, mixes photography with computer graphics. After studying sciences, he spent time dealing in finances, before finally deciding to pursue his love of photography. His ‘Antithesis’ series is the clear result of his interest in the abstract and the conceptual: the series presents the juxtaposition of black and white, and of light and shadow. The viewer is free to interpret the images as he or she sees best – the pictures are as emotionally powerful as their titles are technically neutral (‘Moving’, ‘Yellow’s Time’). The exhibition at Chiosto del Bramante is curated by Giovanni Faccenda, and will open on February 26. It includes 80 works by the artist, among them his most recent series, ‘Concepts’.
