The Imago Fotokunst gallery in Berlin will be showing the exhibition ‘Fotografien’ by Matthias Klages until 25 May 2013.
The series focuses particularly on street musicians and the urban environment. A self-taught artist, Klages (born in 1959) has been passionate about photography throughout his life. He predominantly shoots in black and white, with a strong interest in bringing the easily overlooked details of everyday life to the viewer’s attention. To capture his favoured subjects – urban landscapes, architecture and portraits – Klages exclusively uses analogue equipment, including a Leica, and works with natural light.
