On April 6 and 7, the 2013 summer academy will be launched with Spanish photographer Alberto García Alix presenting the theme of portraiture.
Within the framework of the “Stranger in the Mirror” workshop, participants will deal with personal representation. Alberto García Alix will share the intimate aspects of his photographic work and creative processes; reciprocal portraits and pictures of strangers are part of the practical aspect of the workshop.
Born in Leon in 1956, Alberto García Alix is one of Spain's most active photographers. His work is exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. García Alix’s portraits reflect deep respect for those being portrayed, expressed through a very sober and classic presentation.
In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, there will be a film evening attended by the photographer, on April 5, at 7:00pm. García Alix’s retrospective film “De donde no se vuelve” (From where one does not return) will be showing.
