FotoDoks Festival

October 13, 2013

The leading German festival for contemporary documentary photography is taking place in Munich from 15 to 19 October 2013
Munich's City Museum will once again be hosting the central exhibition of FotoDoks – Germany's most important festival for contemporary documentary photography. Based on this year's theme of "Stranger World", the FotoDoks team have curated an exhibition of outstanding works by 16 photographers from the German-speaking realm as well as the festival's partner countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The theme focuses on presenting unique, curious and unusual stories or events, courageous and extraordinary people, as well as the use of stylised aesthetics that veer off the path of commonly used visual language.

Numerous international guests, including the exhibiting photographers, will be present throughout the festival week. The extensive programme of seminars, discussion rounds, workshops, films and presentations at the MaximilliansForum art space is sure to offer visitors ample opportunity to exchange insights and investigate contemporary documentary photography.

Festival and exhibition opening evening: 15 October 2013 at the Munich City Museum. The exhibition will be showing from 15 October to 1 December 2013.
