Bonjour Tristesse

Share:

Deteriorated and forgotten: In his series “Alphabet, Les Halles 1979-2011”, Italian photographer Ezio d'Agostino deals with places that are in the process of disappearing. His pictures can be seen at the Galerie Lucie Weill & Seligmann in Paris, up until September 15, 2012. Taken at the Forum des Halles in Paris, his work shows things that have been left to their own devices.

A piece of Parisian history
At the same time, the pictures show a piece of Parisian history; back in the seventies, the controversial Forum des Halles was supposed to bring together life, work, learning and art, but the original visions were supplanted by new projects. Before the Forum was transformed, however, d'Agostino captured its degeneration and, in this manner, rescued a piece of Parisian history from oblivion.
