Radiators, staircase landings, dishcloths, plastic animals: At first glance, an incoherent and hardly spectacular choice of photographic subjects. However, photographer Jörg Sasse is inviting us to pay close attention in his exhibition ‘Common Places’, opening at the CO Berlin from 15th September to 28th October 2012. The artist explains: “What interests me is that moment when you believe you have recognised something, only to find it has eluded you again just an instant later.”
The tentative searching and slow-paced observation allows us to make connections beyond our habitual verbal calculations and cross-references. Jörg Sasse breaks through the surface of our perception – turning Common Places into something extraordinary.
