Sea – an exhibition by EJ Camp at the Leica Gallery L.A. from 11 January to 1 March 2014
The ocean has been the central theme of EJ Camp's work for more than thirty years. Again and again, she has been drawn to Long Island with its unique light reflections playing on the wavy water.
"Shooting the sea is not dissimilar from shooting a portrait", Camp explains. "It may take some time in an unforgiving environment, and your subject may be cruel and uncooperative. But with patience and coaxing, its guard will be dropped and the soul of the subject will be revealed."
