From 28 February, the exhibition 3/Drei will be showing at the Only Photography gallery in Berlin.
The first prime number; the holy trinity; the most basic geometric form of the triangle: the number 3 has always held a particular fascination for gallery curator Roland Angst. His initial interest – inspired by his maths teacher – quickly turned into the passion of a collector. Now, an exhibition featuring a wide variety of three-person portraits will be showing at the Only Photography gallery in Berlin.
Open from 28 February to 30 April 2013, the exhibition includes works by renowned photographers such as Irving Penn, Lee Friedlander, Daido Moriyama, and Leica photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson. The images illustrate a correlation between eras and cultures – with the concept of 'three' posing a challenge to any photographer, as there will always be a certain lack of balance.
