The road to being published

Share:

A special anniversary: in 2013, the European Publishers Award will be in its 20th year. Photographers world-wide have the opportunity to submit their work from January 7th to 31st, 2013 – the winning project will be turned into a book, published by five European publishing houses. Submissions must be completed, previously unpublished photographic book projects, with the winner being announced at the Rencontres d`Arles photography festival in July 2013. In Autumn 2013, the winning project will be published simultaneously by each publisher in their own country and respective language.

The jury consists of publishing houses Actes Sud (France), Blume (Spain), Dewi Lewis Publishing (Great Britain), Peliti Associati (Italy) and Kehrer Verlag (Germany), who will be this year's chair.

The winner of the 2012 award was Italian photographer Alessandro Imbriaco with his project 'The Garden'. In his mysterious, sometimes dark photo series he portrays a small  marsh in the metropolis of Rome which has become home to a community of illegal migrants and dropouts. Previous winners include Paolo Pellegrin and Jacob Aue Sobol.
