The 8th edition of the "Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie" takes place from 25 to 27 April 2014
The German city of Darmstadt is set to host the 8th edition of the international photo festival Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie. From 25 to 27 Aptil 2014, exhibitions by 51 artists from 13 countries will be displayed in ten venues across the city. This year's festival revolves around the theme ReflectionsAesthetic References.

The main exhibition (showing at the city's Designhaus) comprises the works of 18 artists, each with their own unique approach to the festival theme. Their series represent aesthetic references to photography as well as painting and history – with works ranging from classic still lifes and portraits to fictional photo essays and computer-generated photographs. The participating artists include Andreas Mühe (Germany), Michael Reisch (Germany), Robert und Shana ParkeHarrison (USA), Michel Campeau (Canada), Max de Esteban (Spain), Thomas Freiler (Austria) and Berndnaut Smilde (Netherlands).

The festival weekend also includes a multitude of events such as the prize-giving ceremony for the Merck Award, along with a variety of seminars, workshops and guided tours.
