Pictures by William Christenberry – one of the pioneers of colour photography – will be exhibited at the Fundación Mapfre in Madrid, from September 24 to November 24, 2013. The US American was particularly drawn to the Southern States. Starting in 1961, he always returned to the same places, aiming to capture their transient progression in photographs. He was less interested in the people than in the landscapes and architecture they created. Over 300 pictures taken between 1967 and 2007 will be exhibited in Madrid – an immortal piece of America in Spain.
