A society full of contradictions
In her series, the self-taught photographer presents a portrait of the Burnt Generation. Young people in Iran are caught within a society full of contradictions: between emerging modernism, uncompromising religious rules and nostalgia for the old Persian kingdom. Tavakolian's work will be on display at the Chapelles des Beaux Arts in Paris, from November 7 to December 7, 2014. Afterwards, the exhibition will go on tour to London, Frankfurt and Milan.
