Counting down the days: On 8 March 2013, the C/O Berlin will be closing its exhibition space at the former imperial post-office building in Berlin-Mitte.
After almost seven years, the C/O Berlin will be closing its exhibition space in Berlin Mitte, and leave its founding premises on 8 March 2013. The date was agreed following lengthy negotiations between C/O Berlin and its new proprietor. The retrospective of Leica photographer Christer Strömholm, and an exhibition of stills from Ulrich Seidl’s film trilogy ‘Love Faith Hope’, will now finish one week early on the 8 March, while Luise Schröder’s exhibition as part of the ‘Talents’ initiative has been moved to Autumn.
On 9 March from 9pm, a grand leaving party will be held featuring light projection, bars and DJs. The opening of C/O Berlin’s new premises at the Amerika Haus in Berlin-Charlottenburg is scheduled for Autumn 2013. In the months until then, the government-owned building is to be renovated by the company ‘Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH’ in close consultation with C/O Berlin and Heritage Conservation.
