Berlin’s Hilaneh von Kories Gallery presents black-and-white positions by nine artists: the showcase ’08-19 Review’ will be on display from 22 June to 20 September 2019.

All nine artists represented in the showcase ’08-19 Review’ have previously been recognised with dedicated solo exhibitions at the Hilaneh von Kories Gallery. The fact that a majority of the images show scenes involving people is a testament to the gallery’s strong interest in humanist photography in all its facets.

The presentation starts chronologically with works by Wolf Suschitzky taken in his adopted home country, England; it continues with images by Sabine Weiss from Paris, and impressions by Bogdan Dziworski captured in his home country of Poland; Belgian photographer Stephan Vanfleteren takes an ironic yet compassionate look at his compatriots; the selection also includes powerful portraits by American artist Dana Gluckstein, as well as Leica photographer Loïc Bréard, whose series about the annual pilgrimage to El Rocio, Spain, was published in LFI 03/2008. Also featured are works by Mario Marino, Jacques Toffi and Inessa Dolinskaia.
