Patrick Demarchelier is considered one of the most significant classic artistic photographers in the fashion, nude and portrait genres. The CAMERA WORK gallery in Berlin is dedicating an exhibition to the photographer. With Demarchelier's 50 best known pieces, the exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the artist's style-defining creativity.
Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and Prinzess Diana all posed for Demarchelier: his photos made them all much more accessible and lifted them from their pedestal of unattainability. He always managed to give the viewer a sense of the intimacy of their personalities. His realist approach, with its fresh and clear imagery enhancing the naturalness of those portrayed, created enough space and revealed their identity and individuality in an intimate manner.
Since its inception 1997, the CAMERA WORK gallery has grown into one of the leading galleries for artistic photography. The exhibition runs from April 26 to July 12, 2014.
