The Alliance Française in Dhaka, Bangladesh is presenting Abir Abdullah's series "Death Trap"
From April 10 to 24, the Alliance Française in Dhaka is presenting an exhibition of Death Trap, a reportage by Abir Abdullah. With impressive black and white images, Adbdullah shows the devastating consequences of the frequent fires that break out in the mega-metropolis of Dhaka.

Insufficient building and fire protection regulations, as well as the fire brigade's lack of training and equipment, lead to repeated blazes that are not extinguished quickly enough, and the avoidable deaths of countless victims.

Abdullah won the 2013 Alexia Foundation Award for this long-term project, that also uncovers the catastrophic conditions of the textile industry in Bangladesh. He works as a Bangladesh correspondent for the European Pressphoto Agency, and is carrying out this project with, among others, a camera from the LFI loan pool.
