ANJA MANFREDI in VIENNA

September 22, 2013

From 3 October to 21 December, the exhibition “Bewegungsbilder” (Moving Images) by Anja Manfredi will be showing at the OstLicht Gallery in Vienna
Although mostly centred around the artist's more recent work, the exhibition juxtaposes Manfredi's latest images with a selection of her unpublished early works, as well as pieces from her well-known “Archive on Movement” (2005-2007).

The Austrian artist characteristically works with collage. A base photograph is interwoven with added images, condensing the picture into a work full of associations for the viewer.

Anja Manfredi (born 1978) graduated from the School for Artistic Photography in Vienna under the direction of Friedl Kubelka, and studied Art and Photography under Eva Schlegel at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2010, she has been leading the Friedl Kubelka School for Artistic Photography in Vienna.
