Searching for Wonderland

A photo book / DVD combination by Andreas Oetker-Kast
“Searching for Wonderland” is more than a photo book and dvd, but the retelling of a journey from Seattle to New York City in 2011. Across thousands of miles, the photographer has collated a story featuring cities, reservoirs, deserts and Hurricane Irene. Initially intended as a continuation of a long term project on the concept of 'Home is a Feeling', “Searching for Wonderland” has turned into a personal book and film on the United States of America. Born in Kiel, the photographer spent almost three years living in the US, returning to Germany in 2003. He worked with a Leica M9 for the majority of the project.

Self-published
“Searching for Wonderland” (original title: “auf der suche nach wonderland”) was released by the photographer's own publishing company, which he founded together with his wife in 2012 to create a new platform for their independent projects.
