The Leica Store in Washington is hosting an exhibition of Jacob Aue Sobol’s project ‘Arrivals and Departures’, a series of black and white photographs documenting his journey along the legendary Trans Siberian Railway. In addition, the Magnum photographer will be talking about his experiences using the groundbreaking new Leica camera on 25th and 26th July 2012.
Jacob Aue Sobol traveled on the Trans Siberian Railway through Moscow, Ullan Batar and Beijing. With the Leica M Monochrom, he documented his journey in a series of stunning black and white images. For the Magnum photographer, the medium of black and white still remains “a way to reach more existential questions”.
