Don't Stop Now: Fashion Photography Next

July 15, 2014

From July 11 to September 7, the Foam Museum in Amsterdam, in collaboration with curator Magdalena Keaney, is presenting an exhibition of next generation fashion photographers.
The exhibition offers a dynamic, colourful and multi-faceted overview of fashion photography, represented by the next generation of, so-called, image makers.

The diversity and hybrid forms make the works remarkable. Some of the photographers deliberately abstain from the possibilities of digital technology, working in analogue and processing their own pictures in the darkroom. Others in contrast explore the digital aesthetic possibilities, pushing the limits of this media. The most important rule that seems to apply is that there are no rules.

The works on display are produced by Brendan Baker & Daniel Evans, Jonathan Hallam, Jamie Hawkesworth, Alice Hawkins, Julia Hetta, Samuel Hodge, Axel Hoedt, Daniel Jackson, Tyrone Lebon, Laetitia Negre, Hanna Putz, Robi Rodriguez, Daniel Sannwald, Clare Shilland, Saga Sig, Jacob Sutton, Chardchakaj Waikawee (Air), Tung Walsh and Ruvan Wijesooriya among others.

In parallel to the exhibition, Verlag Thames & Hudson is publishing a book by Magdalena Keaney with the same title.
