The motto of this year’s conference is “Conferring Significance:
Celebrating Photography’s Continuum. It will examine how concentration on a subject has allowed image, concept, criticism, teaching and learning to shape the past, present and future of photography, its instruction and SPE itself.
An impressive lineup of keynote speakers includes Marin Parr, Richard Misrach and Zwelethu Mthethwa. Martin Parr will open the conference on Thursday evening sharing with conference attendees his “Photobiography.” Featured Speakers are Mona Kuhn, John Upton and Olivia Parker.
The Society for Photographic Education is a nonprofit membership organization that provides and fosters an understanding of photography as a means of diverse creative expression, cultural insight, and experimental practice.
